We are just too stacked to bring up Tambellini? Where would we put him?

This team's offense will continue to be anemic, not just this year, but next year too unless you start making steps in the right direction.

We have too many of the same parts. In particular, guys who play decent defense that work hard, but are below average offensively:

Vasicek
Fedotenko
Park
Hunter
Sillinger
Bergenheim (who I still have hope for)
Comeau

That's way too many. And your 2 top forwards are 2nd liners who are underachieving big time.

This is not a problem with effort Ted. It's a problem of lack of talent.

exactly exactly exactly
grit, character, and heart players are traditionally 3rd an 4th line players. On the Islanders Nolan tries to make it lines 1-4. Nolan has to get over whatever infatuation he has with some of these guys and play them in the roles there meant to be in.

" I dont know if they outskated us e just didnt skate"-Ted Nolan

wonderfull

I think Ted got caught in an Ooops moment there.

Again, I think this Islander team works harder than any team I have seen in MANY years. How many times would we complain about teams in the past couple of years not trying and they certainly were not. This team at least works hard every night, tonight included.

Again the problem lies within the talent. They just lack it.

I.G., Gaza - I saw this and it just said "Islander Mentality" to me for some reason.

Turgeon - If you think there is one trade for one person that will change the direction of this listing junket and it doesn't involve Crosby you are dreaming wildly.

I present to you all, the new Islander hub...

This should be the cover of the Islanders season ticket booklet next years. Hell this maybe should replace the center ice logo at the Coliseum.

Snow brings in the players, not Nolan. This is what Nolan has to work with. I'm sure if given the opportunity he would love to have some true offensive talent here. Unfortunately that option was not open to the Isles at any time this offseason. So this is what they are left with.

Well I think there are a couple players out there that didn't give an honest effort tonight and it showed. Fedotenko and JoVa, and Jaffe just pointed them out matter of fact.. They do lack talent for sure Gaza, but hard work is a must. And when they don't work hard, this is the result you get against a team that at they are basically equal with.

BP...that is where talent would make some difference. Don't know if anyone caught Bossy on "Halls of Fame" I thought he made a great point about the old Isles...he said (paraphrasing) that their best players played like their best players and the role players played their roles...it is so true. Unfortunately this team has the role players...but not the talented players that can be their best players. From game to game we can never know who to expect should be the best players.

Guerin's the only real first liner, he just doesn't produce as many goals as one should. If he was on a line with say...Ovechkin or Hossa *cough* and a good center next season, he'd have a 30-30 season easily if not more.

Gza, why would the coach say that guys weren't skating if it wasn't true? That woul;dn't make sense would it. He knows who is going and who isn;t. No surprise that a couple guys rode the pine in the 3rd. For a coach to say that IF the team truly is playing hard, well he'd have a whole lot of unhappy players. 30 shots on net and maybe 4 that were real testers. To me that is a lack of hard work. And nobody is arguing the lack of talent. That is apparent. Tonight was a lack of everything.
