Nokelainen is clearly damaged goods. I doubt either he or Walter will make much of an impact in the NHL. The best part of the deal is the pick. Assuming of course that the Isles actually get to use it.

"Walter has made a successful leap to the pros and has shown improvement since his rookie year in Providence"

Hmm......I guess yet another Beantown guy can't hurt.

When do we just up and change the name from the Islanders to the Chowders?

(this is getting 100X worse than when Torrey went strictly with Western Canadien players after the glory days started......Tex Ehman then, Milbury, Snow and Wang.....probably Ted Kennedy as well now)

You have to be wary of these analysis', remember when Isbister was going to be the next Bertuzzi? How about Niniimaa? When we got Janne I was estatic and he was a lifetime +10. How wrong the scouting report on that waste of time turned out, he made Mikko Kiprusoff look good.

I think I need to get the Rabbit's Foot out on this one and hope for the best.

Johnny Enema- heh.

Mikko Kiprusoff and DICK Tarnstrom: the 1-2 punch on the Islander blue line. Unfortunately, they usually knocked their own team out.

Does anybody know what the Russian word for "loser" is? KIPRUSOFF! Man, I LOVED that commercial from Southwest.

Notice the trend here?

I think in a sense Snow wants to start building his own identity. This is the third first round pick from the Milbury regime to be shown the door. Coincidence? Perhaps.

I think the conditions in the deal are very doable providing the Bruins like what they see in Petteri.

50 gp in either this season or next or 90 combined in both seasons.

on hf b's board a few guys are saying that the bruins need a 4th line type center for this season -sure , they are deep at center but not at defensive type center -which is what Nokie can be for them playing 8-10 mins a night

How is it that a guy ranked by #17 as the B's best prospect on HF becomes one of the Isles top prospects. Stop with the Kool Aid comments already. Just tell us we got a hard working kid that we think has some upside. No reason to tell us he one of your top prospects now. What does that tell us of how you feel about Colliton, Comeau, Tambellini or Bergenheim. I thought all these guys were suppose to be your great prospects. What a mess.

This team has no clue whatsoever about evaluating young players. If you want a draft pick analyzed, surely don't ask this Isles franchise.

I am scratching my head on how a fifth rounder on another club can instantly be at or near the top of our prospect list. Obviously the Bruins and the Isles have vastly different opinions on him. And I'd be more inclined to trust the Bruins opinion rather than the Isles since our record drafting to players the last six years has been horrendous.

Whether the guy was a 1st round pick or a 100th round pick it doesn't matter. What matters is PERFORMANCE. He will most likely be slotted in on the 1st B-Port line and given every chance to succeed.

Note - Camps / Bruno / Martinek were all late round picks. It is NOT unheard of for a late round pick to blossom and become a solid NHL player (Datsyuk / Zetterberg / Alfredsson).

Let's see what the kid can do before dismissing this as a terrible trade. Also, that 2nd round pick can be very important in the future. There is no way any of us should be rushing to judgement when a majority of us AT BEST have a very limited point of view (as not many of us have seen a ton of either player).

This is a "Wait and see" type of trade folks.

Could not agree more. There recent draft record has been awful except for Okposo. The one that stands right out is passing over Parise to take Nilsson. Yeah that worked out well didn't it. Then we had to hear why they picked Nilsson over him as he was an elite talent and this and that.

My main problem with the deal Witty is we keep trading away all our recent 1st rounders excpet for Okposo. Nilsson, O'Mara, Nokie, the 1st that went for Smyth. At some point we have to pick some solid prospects. They have had enough high picks that they should have produced a solid 1st or 2nd liner by now or atleast have a few guys in the top 50 prospects. They don't have much to show for it.
