I just read that from there too. Did that really happen?

The Drive For 5, did the ref give any reason for the no-goal?

No one seems to know. Maybe the papers will say more tomorrow.

Can anyone here explain the call that resulted in the non-goal for the leafs?

err, non-penalty crease violation. In other words, a totally blown call by Frasier. WE lucked out on that one. DP was holding the guy's stick to add insult to injury which was the reason he was still even bordering on the crease.

That's what half of this board does on a regular basis. What's different? We're all the same!

Thanks for the replies The Drive For 5 and hunter7isles.

Did Frasier really give high fives to the Isles players after the game?

Well... I think I found the reason for the no-goal on one of the Leafs fan boards...

"Why is everyone so upset with Sundin's goal being waved off?

Sundin scored from an absolutely impossible angle, which means he BROKE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS.

Breaking the laws of physics = against the rules = NO GOAL."

Wow! What a game. I can't believe Kerry Fraser called an objective game, usually he slams the Islanders, and then the other ref actually gave us a call to our favor. Maybe Fraser has been reading me ripping him for a couple of years now.

I'll take the win. Give credit to this team on how resilient they are. Again, the clutch line comes through yet again. Unbelievable.

Ricky played well again in goal and this is not trying to be negative, but he has to make better decisions. It seems as if he gives up the puck more than getting it to a teammate and he has to be smarter and get up off the ice immediately as opposed to trying to buy a call. But, goaltending wise/save wise, he has been excellent!

I know a lot of you won't agree, but I can't wait to get Yash to come back and he will give us a little more of a cushion in these games and perhaps my blood pressure will finally drop a little.

Simon had a very bad game tonight and Nolan recognized it by putting Park out there in the end. Not sure why Nolan is taking Tambellini off the 2nd line. He has been very good. I know he is small, but he is not playing that way.

Bergeron has made a big impact to these past 2 games. He has some great talent. I haven't seen the mistakes defensively either and hopes it stays that way, because if it does, this could be a very special trade.

Robitaille is still playing real well and I don't see it going away. Just a matter of confidence.

Hey, and to all you fans who wanted McCabe in the summer, aren't you glad it never happened? Toronto will never win anything with the stupid decisions they make and giving $5M to a horrendous defender as in McCabe. He is getting worse too.

Didn't see that. I heard he clapped and smiled but didn't notice that either although it's possible. The high fives sounds like a bitter exageration from Leafs fans.

What else can you say about this team. What else. Just incredible. Huge gut check win one after another. This team is almost NEVER out of a game. If they are close they are in. Teams do NOT like to play this team. Even when a team has a physical upper hand on us we do not cave in. WE RISE. Just incredible. If this team doesn't deserve to get into the playoffs I don't know what team does. But every time we win, all the teams ahead of us are beating each other. You win and you just tread water. Montreal coming up with a RIDICULOUS WIN. RIDICULOUS.

Saw a few people mention the Raggies. WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Who cares about them. Right now they are NOT our competition. Look ahead of you people, NEVER behind. Looking back is a SURE way to get caught. You become the hunted instead of the hunter.

Just had to mention Satan here. Not that he is playing badly right now, but I think we are seeing a player entering the downside of his career. At least the beginning stages of it. Doesn't have those quick slick moves anymore. His foot speed is average to just below average. He never was a GREAT skater, but he was slick. Don't get that feel from him at all anymore. That foot race to the puck he had in OT I think, he was caught very easily. Still dangerous when you get him in a good shooting position, but far from the dangerous player he used to be.

What a job by Witt and Hill tonight. Just superb. Can't say enough about how good BOTH have been for this team. I had my reservations about Witt but he has become a much more responsible player here than he was in Washington. He gets the credit, can't help but think Nolan has a hand in that as well. Same for Hill. And the veteran leadership on this team is second to none. You get the feel that nobody is about to take a shift off let alone a night off because they will have to answer to their peers and that is harder to do than answering to the coach. Makes it much easier on Yash. Lord knows he needs that kind of help because he is very quiet and reserved.

Wasn't in love with Tamby being moved from the Koz Satan line. I'm guessing Nolan was sending a message and that is fine. But a bit risky in a huge game. Tamby did respond as after wards he had a couple of very spirited shifts on the 4th line.

RR has really stepped up his play. I'd say the last 6 games he has been far better than York was at any point while he was here this season.

Blake had it going tonight and you could see he was out there giving every ounce he had. Sometimes though when you watch him on the PP he can really frustrate the hell outta ya.

Thought Campoli played a nice game as well. Kept it very simple and took his man. Nice job. I didn't notice Myer the IV that much tonight. Did he get a regular shift? Sometimes it is a good thing when you don't notice a player. Sometimes it isn't.

Been impressed so far with MAB. He is a gambler at times but he is a player that can help the PP. He has got a monstrous shot. That thing is vicious. Plus he has made a few nifty passes, and he had that one shift where he showed some real excellent strength on his skates.

Do I really need to talk about Silly Hilly and Hunts. Maybe we can call them the SHH! line because they give teams a big old helping of SHUT UP. Big goal, whammo. Solid D, whammo. What more can they do for this team. And Hunter tonight with the 2 goals. I just don't want to hear about his skating anymore. Just don't. I said it long ago, his skating is adequate. It gets the job done. Can there rally be any argument with that. He isn't gonna win many foot races, but as long as he takes the shortest route to the puck and arrives there in ILL HUMOR, well that is good enough for me.

And DP. He has a risk taking DareDevil, but man did he come up with some show stoppers tonight. That one save he made real late was just incredible. And you have to love that enthusiasm after he SHUT THE LOAFS OUT in the PS round. Great stuff.

Why you reply on every other board?

I cruise many, reply on a few. Same everywhere. Baseball, football......... all the same. Maybe golf and tennis rooms are a bit more reserved

I know a lot of you won't agree, but I can't wait to get Yash to come back and he will give us a little more of a cushion in these games and perhaps my blood pressure will finally drop a little.

Well you know of at least one. Gaza I can see it now, all this great play right down the crap pipe when #79 returns. Team is playing way to good without him. The best hockey they have played all year. Let him rest that cranky knee as long as he wants.

I'll have no problem if Yash comes back and lights it up saying how important he really is to this team. But please tell me if he comes back and stinks up the joint you will at least give me one post on how unimpressive and unimportant he truly is
