They never made those trades under Mad Mike. This team is new and rejuvenated. What better way to send a signal to all of the NHL and Long Islanders than to bring in an impact player.

It just seems that the more a given trade is rumored or discussed, the less chance it actually materializes. Most trades seem to come from left field, e.g., Meyer, Robitaille, Avery, Forsberg to Nashville (no one had him heading there to my knowledge) and, to a lesser degree, Bergeron.

Very nice!

"And by the way Seinfeld sucked" ? What the hell kind of a come back was that?

What a sham. I never really paid attention to this moron, but now he wasted 2 hours of my free time.

Back on topic, Guerin would be a great fit, but I don't see him coming here; it's the kind of move the Isles never seem to make.

the only bad thing is that you must have the xm receiver to listen to certain stations like Home Ice, ESPN, Home Plate, Fox Sports, Sporting News, XMSN, etc.

75,
I think you are right.  Ossi Vaanannen has been rumored, who I believe is a UFA at season end has been rumored to shipped out for some time.  I would think Isles could have interest in him if that was the team they were watching.  (I don't think this would be part of a Blake deal if interested in Colorado).  LaParriere could be the other guy.

I could see Minnesota having interest in Blake as they could use some more scoring and perhaps Parrish pushing for him, but I just don't see anyone on their NHL roster that Minnessota would allow leave for a playoff run.

More from Hockeybuzz.com; apparently Guerin has some rights relative to a trade.

All Is Quiet With Tkachuk and Guerin Today @ 5:57 PM ET | Comments (3)
As of 5:45 central time the Blues have not appraoched either Keith Tkachuk or Bill Guerin regarding any potential trades.

Remember Tkachuk has a no-trade clause in his contract and Guerin has protection in his contract that gives him rights relative to trades.

I'm not so sure Guerin would approve a deal that would send him to the New York Islanders, a team that is fighting just to get into the playoffs.

John Davidson has said he would like to give Tkachuk and Guerin a chance to go win a Stanley Cup. I'm not sure Davidson would trade either player to a club that isn't guaranteed to even make the playoffs.
