stumbled across this site, not sure how much credibility it has but it doesn't seem any worse than some of the other sites that spark discussion.

Cammalleri sign and trade?

A source has revealed that the possibility of a sign and trade with Mike Cammalleri is high. GM Dean Lombardi has been quoted as saying that the two parties are "far apart." The 25 year old centre was the leading scorer for the Kings last season and his salary could reach as high as $5 million after arbitration. Teams that put calls to the Kings are Edmonton, Detroit and the Islanders.

Maybe we should send Cammaleri an offer sheet and keep our prospects....Tough to loose the picks but I am not willing to deal Okposo for him. If rumor is true, LA does not want to pay him and we have $$$ in the bank.

....or Lowe gets him for Nilsson and a 1st rounder, thus re-igniting the Smyth debate on this board.

thats not really what was intended with my new jersey prediction .

he just seems like a player who would thrive in the devils system and would be cost friendly(4-4.5) -which lou likes

Latest from Cheesedust:

2:35: Trent Hunter Domino About to Fall
According to a source, Hunter may be signing a deal in the next few hours and avoiding his upcoming arbiotration hearing. There are sources that are also curious if Hunter maybe included in a deal the Isles have on the table...

I am wondering if the Kubina talk is going to re-ignite, because Toronto is desperately trying to shed salary.

I wouldn't trade Hunter for him, but I certainly would like to get him.

If there is any validity to the trade rumor it would have to be a significant trade for a D-man...that could be why Snow has not signed any others yet, even though he has a ton of cap space.

That's what I was thinking as well Snook and Kubina's name came to mind first because Toronto is desperately trying to gain some cap space to add back Peca.

Don't even mention the other dweeb. I beg of you.

I don't know, I can't see Snow trading with Toronto right now especially to help them free up cap space. I'm thinking this may go back to the Jovo deal that may bhave been in the works.

BP,
I don't agree. When I see teams paying Sheldon Souray and Roman Hamrlik to the contracts that they are getting, it is just evidence that NHL people have not a clue to what is going on. Sure there are guys who know what is going on and are paying attention, but there as many imbesols out there as well.

Gaza, unfortunately market value is set my "the market". That was the going rate for those players. Now say what you want about Sheldons D, but he is a dynamic offensive force from the blue line. That gets you paid handsomely in the NHL. And on the right team, they can cover his mistakes. He just wasn't right for us at that price. Doesn't mean he isn't right for everybody. And that he is overpaid is a moot point because they are ALL overpaid.

Again, every NHL team knows what these guys have to offer. Only question is are they willing to spend that market value money on them.
